Just looking at an Athletic article about Merit payments and the fact International revenue has been rolled into it. Last year, we got £24,686,640 for 9th. This year, that would have been worth £44m but coming 6th takes that to £56m estimated. Looks like we picked a good time to get our highest position given that a bigger chunk of the money is now position based!

The Premier League has become the unofficial European Super League due to its massive TV revenues.

Not sure it is good for European or world football in the long run.

The problem though is that it rewards success with money which makes it even less of a level playing field next season.
