I spent about 4 years working overseas for a UK tour operator as a rep - and had a great time. I'm not one for the party lifestyle, so don't think that's all that repping is about. I worked with people from all walks of life and all ages - some married couples in their 50s, through to 20 year olds getting away from home for their first time. Spent my time in Greece, Egypt and France (ski). It's not great pay, but I managed to save up a bit and it's a pretty self sufficient lifestyle. Meet completely new people, see new things (been to the Pyramids a couple of times).. all good fun.

There are tens of millions of people in the favela shanty slums of Sao Paulo, Rio etc that may disagree with you on that one...

True, but if you pay a bit of money you can go and look at them on the back of a motorbike. So then at least you wont be miserable anymore.

I took up a new hobby Golf but not the easiest to play with these short winter days.

ideally id like to volunteer where theres plenty of fit birds, maybe a page 3 support group.

As others have said, learning a language is pretty useful and there tend to be more women than men on language courses, at least, there have been on the courses I went on (except German).

If you want to meet women: yoga, amateur dramatics and dancing are generally all female dominated.

I do agree that doing a language is brilliant, there's that moment when it all clicks and you start speaking it - that gives you a tremendous boost.

Yes, of course, you're right. Not quite the spirit in which my remark was meant though.

i know how you feel buddy......

I'd say play as much golf as possible, acheiving at an enjoyable sport and the exercise it gives is great and has worked wonders for me......its pants now with winter tho but get down the range in winter and sharpen the skills.

Take up Meditation, its class and in the morning sets you up for the day......Simple meditation on your own to start and see what you think.

Get a book by Robert Holden called - Be happy or happiness now.....available from amazon and the guys funny too.....have a bash...nout to lose.

Also, plan ahead....any job youve always wanted to do.....or a random crazy one you think could never be possible.........some things are acheivable without 7 years at uni and college and with will power you can change your life.

Also I wouldnt listen to toss-pots like Sir Albion or das whatever his name is......if your feeling low its ok to feel like that. You certainly dont need people telling you to man up or pull yourself together.
