Things I noticed on Meridian Soccer Night

1. Wolves goal should not have stood. The most blatant foul throw you will ever see. Very limp wristed.

2. Naylor is a twat. Burbling on about the problem with web sites and chat rooms and "rooting out the truth". He'll be 10 times worse now he has had his own feature.

3. Meridian don't know the difference between Danny Cullip and Charlie Oatway. Sloppy picture editing.

What was all that about then?

He had a 5 minute feature, following his "preparations" for a big game. How he has to avoid all the false rumours and just print the truth, whether the club like it or not.

Strangely, he failed to mention his "Quoting FG" moments. Or his Stoke City bias.

Quoting posts from this site is like printing what some bloke in the pub told you. Pointless, and very lazy journalism.

Actually its worse than that, because posters here can hide behind anonymity. Which means you can't believe a word ANYONE says!

I noticed that too, they may not have a hair between them but they still don't look that similar!

I think we need to balance the discussion here (for the benefit of those who might use the information elsewhere, to fill their column inches).

I for one think that the whole Stegall feature on Meridian was well thought out, innovative, intelligent, thought-provoking journalism from start to finish. I was glued to the set. Sadly, the VCR's not working or I'd have kept a copy alongside the other Albion tapes.

Meridian TV, Andy Stegall and indeed Mr Naylor himself have all risen immeasurably in my estimation as a result of the extensive research obviously conducted in the preparation of the broadcast. I shall be renewing my subscription to the Argus as a direct result despite the recent, well-justified, increase in the cover price.

Top marks to all concerned!
