When was the last time our manager changed his usual tactics to counter the opposition?

If you're supremely confident of your strategy then you'll stick to it no matter what, and that's the type of manager Tony Bloom employs. Though it was Poyet who said "We are Brighton and we play only one way" you get the feeling this comes from the top. it's not completely idiotic either. Why should you change tactics every game. Why shouldn't you impose your way on the opposition. It never hurt the Liverpool of the 70s and 80s, nor recent Barcelona nor Germany in the World Cup. The thing those sides all had is the quality players to carry out the instructions successfully.

The measure of the season may well yet be if that transfer window of two halves finally finished with us having the right personel to use these tactics.

It will be a real test against Ipswich. They bullied us twice last season. I'd go in with Ince to give us a bit more bite. I do think our movement will trouble their big defenders. It's the sort of game where we go in unfancied and end up picking up a good win.
