I get pissed of with people singing "we're going up to win the cup" why did we never revert to "we're going up and we'll win the cup" after the FA cup final?

The song seems kinda pointless at league games.

Or the other forgotten verse;

"You can tell them all that we play football..."

why would you go up to win a cup??

Exactly, and why sing about the cup during a league match?

It's "AND WE'LL" win the cup as "to win the cup" makes absolutely no sense unless we are actually in a cup final! The song is all about being good enough to get promotion AND win a cup.

You thick morons. (Sorry, did I say that out loud?)

I voted "we'll" as it fits the music better.

Irrelevant. Where are we going up 'to' then? Up some steps? Up to London? The 'Going up' should refer to the club 'going up' in the world, not fans or players physically going TO somewhere, which as I've said before DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!

I almost wish we'd never got to the ruddy Cup Final!
