Looks like another fabulous BBC4 program tonight called "Here comes the summer" about the Undertones.

Should be well worth watching.

Feargal Sharkey might have got the headlines, but John O'Neill was the real talent in the band.

Fabulous little band. First 2 albums were immense. Best gig I ever went to was their's at the Top Rank in around 1980 - on for 2 hours (excluding bomb scare!). JO'N was the brains/talent behind them but Billy Doherty was an awesome drummer. Coming from Derry, I suppose he should have been!!

That's the one. 3rd album (not bad, not as good as the first 2) tour. Saw That Petrol Emotion down Brighton Poly a few years later & they were decent too.

I haven't Googled this but is it a fact the Peel did play Teenage Kicks twice in a row on his Radio 1 Sunday night show or just a myth ?

Not a myth : I may have even been listening to it under the sheets at the time .
