The truth about Dan Harding

Have to say, I thought the sale of Harding was one of the best bits of transfer business Knight has done. He wasn't that good, certainly not good enough for the Championship, and we got loads for him.

I remember telling a Leeds fan in the office at the time, who was all excited about signing this England Under-21 prospect, that he was utter bobbins and they had been robbed - something he freely conceded a few months down the line.

He took some stick a couple of seasons ago at Elland Road. The Albion faithful singing "You should have stayed at a big club" definately affected him as he put in a poor performance that afternoon.

Indeed it did, I think that game pretty much ruined his Leeds career. Got dropped for Crainie after that game and then didn't play much more before going to Ipswich. Would be interesting to see how he plays if he gets the same level of abuse.

I think the reason it affected Dan so much was because he is quite a timid lad. He is a thoroughly nice bloke if you know him, and the truth is he was offered 4 times the amount of money at Leeds. He was even offered less than Mayo, who at the time he was ahead of.

But still, I have no problems with him getting Boooooooo'ed if means he plays shite.
