I feel ashamed. I was a one boy crime spree as a youngster. I'm afraid to say i was very light fingered when it came to sweets...
I used to go and buy a bag of penny sweets- claiming it was 50pence's worth when obvioulsy it was at least a pounds worth, but that was only cover for the pilfering of twix's, snickers, chomps, refresher bar's and any other confectionary that got in my way. What can i say, i had a very sweet tooth. My thieving ways had just begun to take in more daring bounty, such as deodorants, when it came to an abrupt halt.
I had a dream one night where i was up to my usual tricks in one of the newsagents i used to visit. In the dream however, i looked up for some reason, into the corner of the room and i saw one of those round mirrors that shops have so they can see round corners etc. It was alittle strange, because the actual shop didnt have one of these mirrors, but thats dreams for you. Well, in the mirror i noticed the owner staring at me... I had been caught redhanded!
The next day, after school, my friends and I were in the newsagents which i had dreamed about the previous evening. I had the sweets that i wanted to buy in my hand and was just reaching for the 'bonus' sweets when i remembered my dream. I looked scornfully up to the corner where the mirror had been in my dream, knowing full well that this shop didnt have one...
but to my overwhelming horror, it now did! I swear that the day before it didn't! As you can imagine, it scared the crap out of me. My hand reached for, but didn't take, the 'bonus' sweets. It wavered in the air for a few seconds before being withdrawn. From that day, i havent stolen anything(apart from the obligatory road signs/cones that all students do).
There, i feel better now after a full and frank confession!
