Good point.

It is sunny so my guess is it is either yesterday or the weekend. I can't remember the last time we had any sun before that.

What was the weather like in germany yesterday. I know they trained when they got there yesterday but I doubt that after a flight and a transfer he would just start jumping about like that, without the medical team taking a look to make sure that it was okay still.

I can't imagine they would let him jump around like that at all. Very odd. Considering Becks, Neville and Terry sat out training I would be surprised if Sven let him do that. I think the Sun is having us on, saying that though it has appeared in a few other papers as well...

I'd play Rooney with ten broken metatarsals in preference to a fully fit and obscenely overrated Crouch anyday.

;)

There's nothing wrong with Crouch, id prefer him over Owen at the moment.

He may be fit to play but cannot see him being match fit. A bit like Owen really. Let's hope he can get his sharpness back pretty damn quickly.

He scores two goals (one a tap in on the line) against a pub team going under the name of Jamaica and people are shooting their loads left right and centre. Eleven goals for Liverpool in 41 appearances last season is a more realistic summation of Mr Crouch's ability against top class defences. Only my opinion of course, but I just can't get carried away with all the Crouchmania on here, sorry.

Even disregarding his hattrick against Jamica he has scored twice in 6 games (not a massive amount I know, but still a better contibution than Owen I believe?) He completley changed the game against the Argies and always looks a decent option you can just see the way two defenders seem to drift towards him leaving Owen a lot more space.

On the Crouch matter, this was before the recent internationals

''Crouch’s five appearances for England have ended with five wins. The team has scored 10 goals in the 231 minutes (less than 2Å matches of playing time) he has spent on the field. His beneficial effect on Michael Owen, who has scored five times in 180 minutes operating alongside the big chap, is striking.

At home against Poland, Crouch came on with 23 minutes remaining and the score went from 1-1 to 2-1; against Argentina in Geneva, his 10 minutes as a substitute saw England go from 2-1 down to 3-2 winners; his last appearance was 25 minutes against Uruguay, during which he scored and helped turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 win.

On statistics alone, there should be little debate about whom Sven-Göran Eriksson should pick instead of Rooney — unless you want to argue that Crouch’s impact coming off the bench is so extraordinary that it would be a pity to lose him as an “impact sub”.

He is not just about scoring goals. He links up very well with other players and has a good footballing brain.

I do love it that people are still doubting Crouch, his link up play is up there with both Owen and Rooney and his goalscoring record for England is excellent. Look at the goal he scored in the Hungary game, he didn't look up once from when he recieved the pass and he placed it right in the bottom corner and his third against Jamaica was a brilliant finish. The boy has talent, this is undeniable, and he will be very effective in the world cup.

Crouch is in form at the moment. Owen isn't.

It's not Rocket Science.

(hopefully Owen will improve once he starts playing in Germany, as he can stop worrying about injuries.)
