Erm, did that report mention freezing hail flying in a horizontal level?

Still trying to get warm.

Was really quite something for that 5 minute spell. Probably the most torrential weather I can remember at Withdean, although it was only for a few minutes. Still meant my legs were covered in icy cold water!

Nothing compares to the Millwall game at home this season though....

'tis true that Millwall was much wetter but then it was a very wet day all day and people were prepared, as best they could.

There were quite a few today without coats.

Not me, as I'm an old git and come prepared for everything!

Today took me by surprise. I didn't think it was going to be anything more than the odd shower. Big mistake by wearing jeans and a fleece!

Thankfully I bought a poncho on arrival yesterday, after seeing some hefty dark clouds lurking about. Was one of those coastal days, gorgeous warm sun one minute, icy blizzard the next! My bum's just about dried out now, but the contents of my back pocket will be on the radiators for a while yet. No way near as bad as against Millwall, though.

Anyone see the double hard teenager in block B? Sitting there in just a white t-shirt trying to look cool. Poor lad was shivering like mad at the end.

I remember a VERY wet game against Derby in the Championship a few years back (the one where they had Ravanelli on the bench), crap 0-0 for 89 minutes, with everyone soaking and freezing, then up pops none other than Kerry Mayo with a last minute winner....suddenly, the rain didn't matter.

:clap2:

Bristol Rovers at home all those years ago, with the possible exception of the snowy cup pitch at Peterborough, was probably the worst surface I have ever seen people try to play football on...how the referee allowed the game to continue after the first five minutes, when it was obvious we would witness a farce, remains a complete mystery to me.

I'm just as guilty as the next man sitting there in abject silence, but it's a shame it takes a downpour to generate any noise.

Cardiff at home at one of the first few seasons at Withdean - was an evening game. Got absolutely soaked through!
