Anyone else see The Specials, Madness and the Selecter at the Top rank in 1979 - what a gig that was!

Oh yes!!

Also saw them at Worthing assembly rooms!!!!!

and supporting The Clash at Crawley in '78 (but I didn't see them tonight )

I saw them play a secret gig in Folkestone about 15 years ago.

They split in 81.

Okay so it was some of the members. But to me was still the specials

There was a band touring around that time called the Special Beat, featuring various members of, er, The Specials and The Beat.

The Beat's Rankin' Roger was the only real 'face' among them though.

I was there - and it doesnt bear thinking about that I was just 19 back then!!

Also Madness played the week before at the Art College opp the King & Queen!!

Last nights gig was awesome.

anyone going tonight will have a top night out.

Only downside was we were in the circle, and the stewards kept trying to get us to sit down. It was just like being in H block!!! They gave up eventually!

i went on thurs night and it was f***ing good.........
one tip...........dont wear ya best shirt........if ya go down the front.......beers glasses flying everywhere................GO SEE THE SPECIALS................JUST f***ing DO IT

If you are in the circle upstairs and you want to go downstairs, if you know people with tickets for downstairs.two or three with the downstairs tickets go into the bar downstairs (they check your tickets) then one of them/you goes back out WITH the extra tickets and hands them to the upstairs ticket holders and then you all go in ......you get the idea
