The Smiths / Johnny Marr's finest moment ?

I half woke up to many mentions of his name and came online to see him pop up all over the place, so put on Hatful of Hollow over breakfast. They were a great great band.

How soon is now for sure. It is the stairway to heaven from the 80's, what difference does it make is quite close behind though.
I bloody love The Smiths.

As someone who was more musically aware in the '70s, I would consider it fairly damning to compare something to Stairway to Heaven - Anything by the Smiths is much better.

Two personal favourites of mine are:

• Some Girls are Bigger than Others...... and
• Please Please Please let me get what I want.

The second of these I think is one of the most quietly powerful political songs ever written.

PS - I didn't mean "more musically aware than you..." more "I was more musically aware in the 70's than in the 80's"
