It's mid May and two more games to go. That is too much. Used to be final game first weekend in May followed by the Cup Final to wrap things up. That was perfect and quite enough football for the season. No doubt we can blame the money men, the TV channels and the Premier League. Well, I for one don't like it.

You don't like a lot of things though, really, do you?

IIRC you're not a fan of dry weather, Thursday night European football, modern fuel tanks, the modern numbering system for midfielders, players breaking their Ramadan fast, Last One Laughing, mental health problems, playing out from the back, home games on Boxing Day, Khan, "pro-gay campaigns", boxing, dog ice cream and immigrants.

Don't worry, Reform will be in charge soon as we can all head gloriously back to 1958. The First Division will be in full flow, the dug up remains of Adrian Thorne will be upfront for the Albion in the regionalised Third Division and the season will stop just in time for tea.

We'll put you down as not watching the Club World Cup

blame international breaks. The most pointless format of football that exists.
I really really hate International breaks and they always seem to come around when we are flying and we start again afterwards by crashing. This could be just me thinking this and not in any way true btw

Did I say I have no interest at all in International football unless it’s the knockout final stages. Qualification against minnows is just f***ing DULL and spoils the League season big time. I think league football should carry on during International qualification tournaments too, it would be “interesting”

I do realise that we would be missing plenty of our best players too

Teams full of English men, bananas on the pitch and monkey chants in the stands, Reform will Make Football Great Again

Maybe email the Barb - you may be able to negotiate part-time season tickets for part-time fans who can’t cope with a whole season.

Let us know what he says.🙃

I preferred the old way and then the long summer break from it all, bar World Cups and later Euros.

The top flight in 1976 ended 4th May and that I think was a postponed catch up fixture. The EC final was on 12th May and the second leg of the prestigious UEFA cup final on 19th May.

No need to reiterate the reasons behind the change since, it just felt about right. The players got a long, true back.

The Charity Shield was on the middle Saturday of August, league games started a week later.

goldstone is a serial whinger but he's right with this one. Football is in danger of killing the goose that lays the golden egg. They've already ruined the world cup by sending it to oil rich states with no human rights and then gone after a massive money grab with a 48 team edition hosted in North America. In fact international football is probably more to blame than anything else, but adding 2 more fixtures per club to the UCL/EL calendars doesn't help either.

Would be good to keep a discussion on point thought wouldn't it, without having a political dig at someone posting about football just because you don't like his political persuasion. I don't think that is very fair. He has a valid point and shouldn't be dissuaded from starting a football thread because others are going to lump on him just because of this.

So, I kind of agree with him, but I do wonder if it's a weather thing. As soon as it gets sunny I start to feel I'd rather be doing other stuff than going to football, but that may be because I've got other stuff to do and others don't and football is their life, which is fair enough.

He's a serial troll who's never posted a single positive paragraph and revels in the current fad for shitstalga,

I see they have also taken the decision to expand the WOMEN'S WORLD CUP to 48 teams. Presumably because games like USA 13-0 Thailand were not already one-sided enough.

That one was a tight affair though. End to end, both teams had chances. USA just a little more clinical in the final third. :)

However, on the upside, Albion will win a trophy.

That is an absolutely magnificent take down write up! Elite tier, chapeau.

Or, to put it another way - FINISH HIM.
