Sorry mate, but that team is awful. How many of them regularly start matches for a decent side?

its not a great side but they should not be losing to teams like norway at home

I have to say that I have completely lost faith with Vogts,. when he came, I thought well not who I would have like d to have seen but he has won a world cup.

It seems that he has no idea of what he is dealing with. Even under Brown and Roxburgh we had manager who understood the limits of what they had to choose from but made us hard to beat. How many of you realised that Saturday was the firs time that we had lost a world cup qualifier at home since 1983?

Sad days, and I know you are all enjoying it, but it will just taste all the sweeter when we beat Italy in Turin............

Because the game is being shown live on BBC Scotland, so you can get it on Sky:jester:
Only if you have digital.

I would imagine a normal sky package would not include BBC1 Scotland or BBC2 Northern Ireland. I am sure you will correct me if I am wrong.

It seems Scotland are viewed as worse than Wales now. :D

You can get BBC1 Scotland as your default BBC station if you ask the bloke when he installs your Sky package, you can also get it loaded on extra.

At last a decent discussion about the shit Scottish football is in, and no racist stupidity...

Vogts can only work with the players he has available, half the scottish players that are reasonably good - though can't think of many off the top of my head - don't have the passion to play for Scotland anymore.

I would be happy with just being competitive against teams with the same calibre as England, Scotland should do exactly do what the Albion do - play to our strengths.

With the lack of youngsters coming through at any big clubs it is going to be a long slippery road down further into international oblivion.

so many problems and no solutions...one day we might qualify for the finals of something - but will be for the quality of our stadiums and not the football :nono:

It all seems a bit ridiculous to me and it MUST boil down to the fact that the Old Firm seem to look abroad before looking to the youth available in Scotland? Vogts is not the man to be in charge either, the SFA should really bite the bullet and try to shift him in favour of Gordon Strachan who might actually give a shit about how they do, when Vogts clearly doesn't.

You can't polish a turd, Vogts can only deal with the very poor quality of players that Scotland currently possess.

It is the same for England, it is not Sven's fault that players are not encouraged to play with two feet in this country, and as a consequence we have a gaping hole on the left hand side that is currently dealt with by playing two left backs, or even worse (until a few months ago) Emile Heskey on the wing!

I see the Scottish FA have today come out and backed Berti Vogts!!

I find it incredible that he is still in charge. The post-match interview with Barry Ferguson tells you all you need to now about morale in the side.

Surely keeping him on is football suicide? There's Strachan, Walter Smith, Joe Jordan, Dalglish, George Graham all kicking their heels.

Scotland are not as bad a squad as their results suggest.

They are EXACTLY as bad as their results suggest.
Vogts rules!

I think bertie deserves a slap on the back and a round of celebratory Wursts for his woeful performance. He has brought joy to millions of football fans, and I dont think when he was appointed we could really think he could have perfomed in a way that will soon see Scotland ranked lower than 100. Keep up the good work Bertie.

And on that subject well done Mark Hughes too!!! The last 12-18 months has seen a string of bitterly disappointing results and performances from the Welsh. Fantastic!

The point also needs to be made that the absence of Scotland from major football tournaments definitely detracts from the atmosphere of the occasion.

In terms of all-round support they are in the world's Top 10.

Personally, I'd rather their defeats came on the biggest stage in front of the world's media, rather than against minor nations shown on BBC1 highlights, after England, Wales and Eire, at 11.45pm.

.

Ah, but does that count other World Football forces such as Ghana, Honduras, Leichtenstein, Chad, Bahrain, Bali, and Fiji?
I think they should be counted, if you are to make those kinds of observations!
