Waiting for the bus in Hurst and 70% of the cars going past are full of little darlings being given a lift to school.

Roads jammed.

WTF!

Make them bloody walk!

It’s a sunny day for Christ’s sake. I’d make them walk regardless. Its character building.

Bloody pampered little miracles.
Apologies I’m one of the cars taking my kids to Hurst for school - coming from Hove !

The college or the village primary school? It’s almost expected that the roads around College Lane will be clogged by Range Rovers and Audi Q8s every morning and evening as pretty much none of the kids who go to Hurst College live in the village. If you drive your children from Hove to St Lawrence primary school, on the other hand: well that’s true commitment to a state education.

I went there as a kid (the local school, not the posh one). I was made to walk there every day, like it or not :)

Need more of this kind of thing, go to your local school and walk.

Sorry to disappoint you - it’s the college. My commitment is to try to give them the best start in life in the way I feel is most likely to achieve the desired results. There are plenty of good state schools but I feel my kids will benefit more from a posh school as you call it. It’s not posh by the way but it is small classes, lots of tests to prep them for GCSEs , the teachers know the kids strengths & weaknesses inside out & the sports facilities are excellent. Lots of academic support etc because it’s in the schools interest for the kids to get good exam results as that’s why your paying.

Shame so many kids are just ferried around places. Getting them walking or on the bus gets them to experience real life a bit too and not just a nice cosy sterile environment.

And you might get to meet Sir Glenn Murray on the school run, so, worth it 😃

Hehe - I have several times had a chat. Lovely man. His child no longer goes to Hurst though as she’s very talented in a particular area and has gone off to pursue that talent at a different place.

See another first team player there quite regularly but as he’s moving down to central Hove, I’m guessing his kids might move school.
