Ridiculous comment. Barnes' first touch yesterday was poor but HE'S BEING PLAYED OUT WIDE. That's probably why he isn't in the box scoring. And when he does, and scores, or takes a penalty, and scores, or links up brilliantly with CMS, who scores, he STILL gets crucified. Unbelievable.

His all round game yesterday was poor. Brushed of the ball far too easily and created absolutely nothing as well as having a terrible first touch. He should have been withdrawn the same time as Dicker who also did very little. Barnes will not be a central striker all the time CMS is playing due to our formation so he shall have to learn to contribute whilst being played out wide.

I thought the save from the header was ok but not as good as the one he made from CMS snap shot from out side the box near the end of the match
I agree that was a much better save, the header was down the middle of the goal and not particularly powerful, it looked a cmaera save to me. What I think with judging saves is how would the keeper have looked if it had gone in, and in the case of that header he'd have had to be Graeme Smith-esque, he was always saving that. CMS just couldn't get a good enough connection on it sadly.

the quality of the save was him holding onto it. stopped any chance of a rebound, most keepers would/should of made the save, but hanging onto it with ease, was the impressive part.

his handling was great all game, everytime a cross went into the box, apart from one occasion. best keeper iv seen in the championship so far.

Agreed. The fact that Hull have only shipped 9 goals in 11 league games must be largely down to him, I'd have thought.

*awaits inevitable statto to say he's been out injured for the last 10 league games*

From immediately behind the Hull goal, it looked superb. CMS seemed to be almost on top of Basso when he made the header. Basso had no time to catch it, but caught it. Brilliant!

I guess I might think differently if I saw it from a different angle. And I've not seen a TV replay.

I'll agree with this.

My first reaction was that it was a brilliant save but after seeing it again on the screens it was a quite simple one, came at a decent height & wasn't powerful enough for him to need to get his body behind it.Infact when it was on the bigscreen I'm sure I saw the colgate ring of confidence as he smiled for the cameras in a Kuipersesque way.
