sorry but this is absolutely shocking

yes this is mike dean and yes he admits it was an error, but i’m willing to wager this is the thought process for a multitude of the shocking decisions we have seen. english refereeing run like an old boys’ club, not good enough

No, sorry, you must be mistaken, VAR is going to solve all football’s problems and anyone who says differently is a reactionary lover of imperfection.

It's definitely worth watching the whole interview - provides a bit of context. He does talk about how much he hated being in the VAR chair.

VAR is doing a very good job of solving some problems...

....when it isn't being operated by ****s

Which sadly it often is.

This isn't about VAR it is about referees.

What I'd like to know is how come cuntishness is so easily incorporated into the day to day rubric of some of them?

The football equivalent of The Met in the 70s

(and 80s, 90s, noughties and so on).

Did someone have a gun to his head, making him do it?

You can make the same argument for those that make excuses for Caicedos behaviour in January and recently !

Who did you expect it to be operated by? The ghost of Mother Theresa?

Who do you expect to referee games without VAR? It's the same ****s. They need to stop being ****s, use the available technology properly, stop being ****s and, er, stop being ****s.

As violent agreements go, that was quite special :lolol:

Looking forward to watching us stuffing the iron when I get back from hols.

Although....how do you stuff iron?

If they are rusty we could buff them. Yes. That works.

Buff the iron, so our glory can be reflected in their lovely buffed faces.

I have a yellow card in my hand - I am getting grief from players and the crowd of the home team - the home player shows me he has got an injury form the challenge and there’s lots of shocking red blood - I therefore upgrade it to a red based on that.

Mike Dean - we will never forget

* Although I am 95% sure you did us a favour in the long run you northern prick

Noted (scribbles cryptically into a small pocketbook bound in - possibly - surely it can't be? No, I'm not having that*).

*It was dried, cured banana skin. FFS. What did you imagine it was? ???

So basically it’s solving nothing, because it seems to be operated by ****s every week.

Whilst embracing goal line technology, VAR simply sucks the enjoyment out of celebrating a goal being scored - hate it….
