The reason why our home form is so poor?

On the 'Dean Cox Dropped' thread several people said that he was often seen out in HH on the night before a game. It was also mentioned that this couldn't be an away game as we are usually in a hotel at the time.

Could the real reason why our home form is so disappointing be that our players are getting pissed on Friday night? I really hope it isn't, but I'm starting to have some doubts.

I doubt it but pro footballers, who have the life we'd all love, have responsibilities and being indoors on the night before a game should be one of them.

Even if not drinking, being seen out the night before a game will lead to rumours. A pro sportsman needs to be in tip-top condition.

I very much doubt it, I would suggest the style of football is just more suited for away games.

I've always thought Withdean doesn't help. Playing at bigger stadiums with better facilities makes people "play up" to a certain extent. Kind of like playing at Wembley every away game and then coming back to a temporary caravan for a changing unit every other game...surely you're bound to play better at Wembley?

Our home form isn't that bad.

I would suggest it might have something to do with the teams we have played at home - both Forest and Leeds who are the runaway best two in the division and Walsall who have a superb defensive record and are hard to beat and a strong Carlisle team.

Bit fairer to look and compare at the end of the season.

Also, might have something to do with the overwhelmingly negative attitude of most of the crowd...

Seeing as I heard that Alex Revell needed special permission from Deano to attend Gary Hart's quiz night as apparently there's a 48 hour ban prior to a game from any licensed premises I'd say that it's all tosh this talk of players getting pished

High up on the South Downs.
Brighton's 1982/83 team were the hardest drinking team we've ever had: Case, Foster, Moseley, Grealish, McNab, Gatting, Robinson, Howlett, Ryan etc.
So the logical thing is for Dean Wilkins to take the team out on a Friday night pub crawl.
