On a train...
I'm hoping Air India dish up a nice curry, when me and Crazy Cornish Gal fly to New York in November.

I fear she will gnaw on Naan and leave the ruby

Do us fellow droolers a big favour: DESCRIBE these things a bit - they could be marinated horse sphincter muscle for all I know but they sound quite magnificent.

Idli: Steamed dumplings made from rice flour (and a bit of ground urad dhal).
Sambhar: A Southern Indian veggie curry, usually a bit on the liquid side so it makes a great sauce poured over aformentioned idlis.*

Roti Canai: Malaysian flat bread, a bit like paratha (from which it probably originated), rolled and re-rolled then shallow fried, so that it rips easily into strips - good for dipping into a curry sauce, usually chicken korma.

Bao-zi: steamed rice flour dumplings which are usually stuffed with minced pork. Best when dipped in vinegar that's been infused with chilli flakes.

All available at good street markets in the aforementioned lands...

(*Except in the rainforests of southeast Asia, where a sambhar is a f***ing big deer, which by coincidence is also delicious...)

It's just Chicken tikka with some generic sauce chucked on top.

and dont forget the heinz tomato soup.

Went for Dopiazza as there wasnt an option for Roti with fish gravy.

Can I vote for all of them?

Favourite from the Caramon in Cranleigh is the Goan Chicken Masala - awesome. Some Dum Aloo as well makes it nice and hot.

El Pres is very lucky to live near the curry mile in Manchester. There are some superb restaurants there with just about every Asian curry dish you can get.

A chicken biryani was responsible for my only day with the runs in 6 months of travelling round India.

Tasted good at the time though...
