Staring at the rude boys

There was one evil dickhead of a skin who was around at the time whose party piece was to turn up at gigs on crutches and when the skins started frothing at the mouth and attacking the punks he'd swing his crutch like an axe down on the heads of the nearest random non-skin. Saw him do it at Canterbury and again at the Adverts gig at the Greyhound in Croydon (the upstairs room with the spongey floor). Now THERE was one utter C UNT.

Was he an ugly shortarse twat ? If so, I'm sure I used to know him.

'My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes to Bitburg)' was written primarily by Joey...

[Pedantry]

Sorry to be pedantic, but it was written as "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg", which is how it appeared on the 12" in 1985.

The title change only came about a year later when it appeared on Animal Boy.

Carry on.

[/Pedantry]

Edit: I've just learned from allmusic.com that the title was changed because Johnny - the fervent Republican as already mentioned - objected to the original.

I was at the Top Rank in 1986 as well for what it's worth...

First time was at the Roundhouse in '77. Supported by the Talking Heads and the Saints.

I was there for that. What a great gig.

I remember that Tony Towner's Fridge and I blagged our way into The Clash's post-gig party at Sussex Uni in 1977. To our delight, Joey Ramone was there and was willing to chat for a while - not that we could get much sense out of him.

Joey Ramone is also the only dead pop star whose grave I have ever made a pilgimage to visit.

Unlike everyone else on the planet, I've never even been to see Jim Morrison...

I've been to Brian Jones' resting place.

I never saw The Ramones but I did see Dee Dee (I think) Ramone play an accoustic set in the old Concorde venue, half the crowd left after they realised it was accoustic but me and my old man stuck around.
