It's nice outside, it's time to start walking again. You can't beat the stroll up to the Devils Dyke, such a nice and peaceful walk and then a fairly nifty pub once you get there. Not to mention the stunning countryside. On the stroll back I took a different path back into Hove, which led down toward a farm with a dozen or so horses and eventually up to Foredown Tower. I wasn't sure if I had strayed off the public bridleway though, the Farm people were giving my dodgy looks but I seemed to follow the path straight over, not too sure.

Certainly is. Spent the afternoon sitting on the beach between King Alfred and The Lagoon. Very quiet and peaceful. The sea was freezing cold though. :nono:

You went in the sea? :mental: (as they say!)

Must admit to going to the seafront for my lunch break for a Mini Milk, was glorious.

That's not how THEY say it. (Comedy gold!)

I've been looking on Google Maps, it doesn't seem too easy to walk from the Devils Dyke to the Amex, nor particularly rewarding for the poor bastards who sit around me, but it would be quite a nice walk I think. Just need to work out the best route over the Downs.

I catch the train from Haywards Heath to Lewes on match days and it has to be one of the most scenic rail routes round this part of the county and it got me thinking. I need to get myself to Barcombe Mills, I think there is a pub called the Anchor, lovely place to spend summer days walking and going on the boats.
