Think he means that £1.40 is 40% greater than £1, i.e. 140% of £1 is £1.40

I didn't put a price of them though, did I? Meaning I wasn't talking about them, just the Tea itself. Plumchops.

There is absolutely no excuse for a large cup of tea to be more than £1 - and very little excuse for it to be more than 60p. I would never buy tea at £1.40, on the basis that anyone wishing to insult me doesn't get my money.
At my favourite local cafe I get a pot (loose tea, not those shitty teabags) for 95p, from which I can get three cups. It's lovely, too.
When these are added on we are talking about £1.35 being the true costYOU ARE THE PLUMB HERE BOY. DISCUSSING THE PRICING OF A CUPPA AND YOU LEAVE OUT SEVERAL MAJOR FACTORS............AS POINTED OUT BY SEVERAL OTHERS![]()
The price of tea in the Jim Parks Bar
Does anybody agree with me that at £1.40 the price of a cup of tea in the Jim Parks Bar is at least 40% too high? Yesterday I enjoyed a lovely cuppa in the Durham Pavilion for just a pound. Check out the number of people who bring flasks to the cricket at Hove - surely lots of them would be buying tea in the pavilion if it was a decent price.
but what about the marquee? they were charging £1.50 a cup in there today!
yes in the south east corner, tea was £1.50 but biscuits were 10p cheaper than jim parks bar at 40p not 50p. swings and roundabouts![]()
Great service too, that guy is CLASS!
