David Beckham is reportedly getting tired of the adoration of star-struck cabin cabin crew when he travels with British Airways,so he is thinking of flying with a different airway company. The footballer travels thousands of miles each year with the airline, taking trips between the US and the UK, but he might start using a different carrier because of the attention he receives en route.

While both David and his wife Victoria are used to the paparazzi taking pictures when they land at airports, David has been finding it is happening mid-air as well.

Becks apparently made his decision during a recent flight when an air hostess allegedly took a photo of him asleep, and woke him up with the flash of her camera. The airline has apologised to David and reminded its staff that they need to act professionally and respect their passengers during flights.

A source told The Sun that David is more than happy to pose for photos and sign autographs and is happy to go the extra mile for his fans, but he needs to draw the line somewhere.

The insider said: "It was a bit disconcerting to watching young BA crew members queuing down the aisle for autographs during flights. His privacy must be respected, and being startled as he rested during a flight was the final straw."

I was a senior BA stdss for 25 years and we would not have dreamed of this behaviour, however, the airline took on young crew on naff contracts, poor pay etc and this is what you get.

He should fly Virgin. A much much better airline than BA. BA lost its way years ago; it's nothing special these days.

Of all celebs I find the Beckhams to be of the most patient and polite.
Boundaries always get crossed by star-struck fans, and of course the subject doesn't want to be disturbed in every private moment.
Can you imagine being in a nice reflective happy moment and getting yet another pestering autograph hunter.... who will probably only flog the sig on ebay?
Boundaries have to be set by the celebrity. They also have to worry about the eventual insistent 'dominator' who wants to make them do stuff for them, go for a drink meet their kid do stupid poses for them come round their house surprise their missus/gran/dad/etc.
Smiling for photos or every little brat must get wearying.

I'm surprised with his wealth he doesn't hire a private plane like Simon Cowell!

but then Cowell is a bit of a knob. Beckham retains a bit of ordinary lad done good about him.

I know someone who works at BA and this rumour has been doing the round for years. Maybe it did happen but I would be surprised.

What a total non-story. I would imagine "The Insider" will be his press agent conjouring up a story out of nothing.

I'm quietly confident that either (1) this never actually happened or (2) it's been grossly exaggerated by the Sun to fill an empty page in their newspaper.

Frankly, whichever it is, it's not a news story.

God knows the Beckhams have used the media to their advantage enough times in the past. Occasionally it might come back to bite them on the arse. Meh.

ANYTHING to get him on the papers, this is a bit desperate though. Maybe he should get another tattoo or a new hairstyle would have been a better route.

Him and his wife have courted th epress and paraded their kids around in front of the camera's for years on end. A small price to pay. If I were him, every time I got fed up i'd go online and check my bank balance, propbably cheer me up again.

Sun is probably too tight to send a reporter or two to Israel :)

Quite. Much cheaper for them to sit in the office and make up stories about the Beckhams's perceiving a small slight, or watching I'm A Nobody, Who Gives A Shite on telly.

Fair enough but any negative press for BA is good in my book.

I heard this story ages ago about George Clooney. Maybe it's a variation on the Marc Almond/stomach pump urban myth which gets updated every decade. But I can't imagine The Sun would ever print a story based on rumour and hearsay.
