Now has new landlords from the Horse and Groom and have built a stage there, but please don't drink the Harveys there as at the time of writhing the bog roll is in the fridge!

The place was looking a tad forlorn yesterday evening, has to be said. Were it not for our post-match group of about a dozen then the place would have been completely empty on a Saturday night. But, hey, the jukebox still works, the bottled organic cider is still cold and good, there's still pool and darts and bar-billiards and there's never any trouble getting served. Could do with showing SOMETHING on the multiple tellies, even if they don't quite run to Sky Sports, they could surely run to a digi-box for Sky Sports News. Or even Dancing Losers On Ice. Something. Anything.

Still infinitely better than The Sportsman

That sounds like awesome news to me. The Horse And Groom is a great pub with cool people running it, if anyone can finally give us somewhere non-shit to drink near Wankdean I hope they can.

That is unfortunately the sign of the times with less and less people going to the pubs. It has been suggested in trade papers that in 20 years time there will be no pubs as we know them now, but it wont affect me I shouldnt think.

As an example the governor from The Windmill in Burgess Hill committed suicide this week and it was reported in the Middy that his rent was £700 per week and some days he only took £3 I can not understand the takings as I have never ever taken that small amount, but can the rent.

£3 takings or profit, Sad to see of his death. Been in there a number of times since it was renovated, and it was a nice pub very friendly feel

Managed to get one pint of fosters last night before they ran out, the Guinness was rubbish and so was what was served to me as stella which most certainly was not, the new landlord has promised to sort it before the next home game but if not a certain THPP (who incidently lost at pool to an 8 yo boy, snigger) :shrug:will be drinking his glorified apple juice on his own.:(:nono:
