Addenda: I have spoken on the radio a couple of dozen times, and Johnny Byrne is by far the best person I have ever spoken to by quite a long way!

I enjoyed talking to Johnny on Saturday, he is differnet to Harty, not better, or worse, just different, he has a footballers view, and thus he asks more specific questions about the game, tactics and such.

I'd like to see him and Harty co-present the phone-in, that would give us an excellent balance between passion as a fan and proffessional insight as a (ex) player.

As for the twatty women that phone in, the trouble they have is that no-one else ringing in early on in the show. If you want it to improve, do like I do, ring in just after the game and they'll put you on the list and call you back, I can assure you, they would rather speak to people about the match and tactics than about mrs so and sos delight in speaking to the lovely Johnny Byrne.

(NB, I should mention that JB is and will always be my all time fave Brighton Player.)

I thought that was you on the radio Superphil - good call, you had plenty to say for yerself and came across very well.

John Byrne is excellent on the phone-in, even better that Harty IMHO, although I'd agree the best option would be to have John and Harty doing the show together. Byrne strikes the balance between not being an out-and-out fan, but having a genuine affection for the club. And as a former player, he has some interesting views on the game and is eloquent enough to put them across well.

I met the fella at the D2 Championship parade, he was standing around with the rest of us fans in First Avenue. Very chatty and approachable, and a very nice bloke (at the risk of going all "Lily" on you). Certainly in my top 3 of all-time favourite Albion players.

I also think a combination of John Byrne and Harty would be excellent. Coming from different "sides" of the debate could well provide a thoughtful and interesting balance of opinions.

As for Fifi Trixiebelle of Hove, she's not supposed to creep through the defences but she's more crafty than her daftness suggests.

(John Byrne is a thoroughly nice bloke for all that - posed a treat eh, Superphil? ;)

I was driving home when the bird on the radio started gushing over Byrne. It was so bad I turned over to TalkSport to get the results.

It's a great show, I'm a big Harty fan, I think Byrne is very good and I hope they'll present together, but they must be firmer about callers wasting time.

The show can get away with it in midweek when there isn't a full league programme, but not when you've just got back into your car and you want the other Saturday results / football chat and you're getting neither.

They must have been short of callers on Saturday because SCR rang me and asked me if I wanted to go on air consequently I had to think of something to say very quickly.
