Oh look Derby have lost in the playoffs. How unusual.

I feel quite sorry for them but it is the ‘Derby Way’ or the ‘FL Derby Way 2.0’ now I suppose.

Their fans will be used to the disappointment by now but they’ll be worrying about next year’s budget as they’ve already flogged the ground to cheat FFP, what else can they flog?

Answer: Bogle to us?

They have just got £170million...

They still have to either talk parent clubs into selling, or buy a decent replacement/ upgrade.

Then, they have to replace/ upgrade squad players who won’t cut the mustard in the PL.

If they manage to buy Tap in Tammy, will he be any better than he was in the PL for Swansea? I seem to remember being completely underwhelmed by him after he left Bristol City?
Is he another Jordan Rhodes, a good Championship striker, but not up to the Premier League.

Thought he was a bit ordinary TBH, though just one game....

I went to the very first Championship play off final at new Wembley, Derby beat WBA to win promotion.

We appear to be a finishing school for pundits. Today's play off pundits were Chris Wilder, Keith Andrews and Liam Rosenior.

Steve Sidwell and Glen Murray were probably first reserves.

Probably (but you never know), but picking up a point you made in another thread, arguably Chris was hamstrung in terms of PL quality, pace and guile by the wage structure.

CH was IMHO too, throughout his 2 PL seasons. I know I’m in the NSC minority, with most people instead believing that we have a wonderful PL quality squad (badly coached), but I thought it a bit shite in several key areas.

But CH and Winstanley chose the signees, with TB simply signing the contracts and cheques, relying on their football knowledge.

Derby going up would have been better for us but I will never forget their fans behaviour at Falmer station after the play off game 5 or so years ago. Absolute wankers of the highest order. Hahaha. ****ed it up again!!!

Enjoyable game.

I love the play offs, the essence of sport, an entire season distilled into one game.

Tomori looked excellent. With Chelsea's transfer ban surely he's going to be getting some game time there.

Yeah, brilliant fur the neutral aren't they! Tomori been brilliant, he'll do well for someone in the PL next year...

I'm chuffed. Villa Park is great.

Could really care less, it will only be great if we get something there. Villa are more likely to be stronger next season than Derby
