Unfortunately Jayson Molumby was on the losing side for the Irish U21s today against Iceland - didn't see the game due to work commitments.

Apparently Iceland started on the front foot and scored from a penalty - then shut up shop and the Irish couldn't break them down. By all accounts Molumby played well.

Surprised that McCarthy picked both Connolly and Collins - I would have thought if he was picking Connolly as a striker it would have been instead of Collins.

Here is hoping he bags a couple of goals in an Irish win - even better - both of them get a couple of goals in a comfortable Irish win.

Not sure why - he said he'd not play Connolly up front by himself...

McCarthy did admit, however, that he would not use the teenager as a lone striker, the role Luton's James Collins took on in Tbilisi.

"I wouldn't want him to be isolated up there, that's for sure," added McCarthy.

"They play three at the back and I think putting Aaron into that, if I decided to do it, putting him up on his own would be a big ask I think on his first full start."

AC already utilised a Murray trick in relieving defensive pressure.

It's just like watching Brighton . . . Of old

I think it’s fair to say if Duffy has been working on playing it out from the back more, he’s not going to be getting much practise tonight. Ireland are just a bit agricultural! HOOF!

Well, it could be argued their manager is better suited to selling tractors ;-)

Hughton praising Connolly pre-match on Talksport - good player, can make things happen, or words to that effect.

So why not play him then Chris? - might have saved your job! Well, maybe not quite, but .............................

Connolly's is lively - but he needs to take a deep breath - he is a little over excited and a bit impetuous. Duffy looks a little slow tonight - maybe hasn't recovered from Saturday.

Perhaps because last season he was injured and then couldn't get a game for a League One team.
