The Matrix Revolutions

Following on from GG Worst film of all time - I think I've found mine.

As a lover of all things Matrix I travelled to the cinema with great expectations last night for a thrilling finale to the trilogy.

I can honestly say the film was absolute gash, possibly my biggest let down in Cinematic history. Rather than focus on the charactors that made the first 2 films Morpheaus, The better homes twins, Agent Smith etc, we get a host of all America 'heros' spilling out clich's faster than a drunk spills his Goddam beer and a storyline so convuluted it ties itself up in knots. Throw in a big fight at the end with a soundtrack straight out of the old spice adverts when you are long passed caring about what happens it all adds up to a mess of a film. Watch the 1st half hour then leave is my advice.

The best bit was the Lord of the Rings trailor. Now that did look good....

Awww noo !
I was really looking forward to seeing that, and you've put me right off now. I'll still go and see it anyway (just look at how wildly opinions differ on the Film 2003 thread), but I must admit, I did fear the Wachowski's would disappear up their own arses with this one, as they were well on the way to doing exactly that in the 2nd instalment.

The first Matrix was a joy, the 2nd one was iffy but redeemed with some spectacular sequences, the 3rd one sounds like it might reek a bit. Just like Superman actually.

Have to echo the above. Although I'm not a big film fan I did enjoy the 1st Matrix film, I thought it was a good idea well executed. The second was almost complete dross and I had a sneaking suspicion that the third would be total incomprehensible dross with an incomprehensible ending. Ah well.

The next Lord of the Rings is going to be absolutley incredible. There is a battle scene ten times the size of the last one.

Its out on the 8th of December i think. I'm genuinely excited about it, its the first film i have ever been so worked up about.

Matrix 2 had loads of unanswered questions of which most were answered in no. 3. I was constantly wondering how they were gonna end it, and in fairness I think it was well executed and finished properly.

They have also left it open for another film if they so desire, following on from the end.

I quite liked it although all three do need to be watched again one after the other.

Excellent, it's not only me!! But do see Matrix 2 and 3 - they are worth it. It's not really a film - enjoy the action sequences for their stunning visual effects (they are good), but don't just "watch" the film - you need to keep thinking about what is happening, why it is happening, and what it means. You get very lost otherwise.

How can you not be excited about lord of the rings.
Don't want to be blasphemous but for me they are better films than the star wars trilogy.

Sequels, sequels, sequels.

Never be surprised if a follow up doesn't live up to the promise of better things. It very rarely does.
