Stayed awake all the way through, fell asleep just before they gave him the green jacket. Still not seen him wearing it.

Fantastic achievement for Rory, absolutely delighted for him. That was an epic win, what a great night of sport.

That was some off the best few hours of sport I've ever seen. He made it even tougher for himself than I think anyone could ever have imagined! Somehow got over the line.

Delighted for him and hope that means he can go and win a few more now that pressure has gone.

In terms of drawn out drama I can only compare last night to England winning the cricket World Cup in the super over, the miracle of medinah and the ashes in 2005.

What other “everything stops for a few hours” events can be compared to that?

Tiger’s last masters win close to the list but not quite there.

Emma Raducanu at the US Open?

That was amazing but not actually that exciting because she didn’t lose a set.

Possibly some of the incredible Wimbledon finals - had I not been distracted by the cricket World Cup final then the fed vs Novak final where fed served for it and lost or Murray’s.

I can’t count football as it is all over too quickly.

Agreed. I’d been up since 5am but wouldn’t have missed that climax for the world. Absolutely riveting sporting contest of the highest order. Today is going to be a slow day

Interesting to see what he does now - will either blitz the big tournaments playing with more freedom, or drop off because he’s got nothing left to prove. Hope it’s the former because he’s a joy to watch.

The shots he played into 15 and 17 were just jaw-dropping, given the pressure.
‘What’s the plan Rory ?’

’I’m going to hit a 7 iron over 200 yards, over water to a narrow, lightning fast green, with a 40 yard curl around a tree and leave it 6ft from the flag with millions of people watching in the most important round of my life’

‘okay mate’

Have rewatched that shot several times…..it’s unbelievable (under that level of pressure)

I am going for floodgates opening. I have backed Rory with some of my Rose ew winnings at 450/1 to win all three of the majors left this year to win year grand slam.

He has a great record at Quail hollow which hosts the PGA and with the monkey off his back he can do anything. Winning the masters with 4 double bogies is absolutely insane. His ball striking was amazing. Two of his doubles were actually just bloody unlucky - not bad shots as such, just a yard from being amazing. I am looking at the double on 1 yesterday where it was a yard short of flying the bunker and on 15 on day 1 when the ball simply didn’t stop on the green with his second shot.

His ball striking with irons was absolutely insane all week.

It is such a shame that was not on the BBC last night with Andrew cotter on comms. It would have been one of those events with insane viewing figures.
