Anyone else going to Mogwai / Lankum at Cryst*l P*lace Bowl in August?

I'm not a hardcore fan of either, but The Twilight Sad and Caroline is quite an undercard!
It’s a peachy line up for sure. Kicking of procedures are The Yummy Fur. Who are just brilliant.

In fact I'd change the stage time order to
MOGWAI
THE YUMMY FUR
TWILIGHT SAD
CAROLINE
LANKUM

It’s not just kids, I’ve found people over the age of 30 just as bad. In fact men of certain age around 50 seem to be a pain in arse at gigs sometimes, but people’s gig etiquette in general is appalling these days.
100% with this. I find it tends to be worse with festivals. As far as I’m concerned don’t talk, don’t take videos and most importantly don’t ever, EVER sing along to the songs.

This sums that all up perfectly in just 40 seconds. Enjoy.

I will sing along and take some photos and the odd video. I dance too . . . Is that allowed? Or should I stand stock still deep in contemplation of the music I am witnessing? I do find that my enjoyment is slightly marred by the constant presence of such a dullard fun sponge standing near me killing the vibe and hoovering up any joy. 😂

Here are some photos I took last night when I was incorrectly enjoying Supergrass at the Forum in Melbourne last night. I have a video my wife took but fear you may hear singing from myself and others who are not in the band. 😂

At one point Gaz actively encouraged us to sing!! It was awful.

Skindred are playing Worthing in October as part of their Detour tour.

“This October the ‘Detour’ is our attempt to do just that. As a band we love to play live, but there are so many amazing towns and cities with fantastic venues across the country that get forgotten and need to be supported.

“That’s where our ‘Detour’ comes in! We can’t wait to head back out across the UK this October on our ‘Detour.’

Also worth noting that 100% of the profits from this concert will be donated to the NHS.

Went to Ceremony at Esquires in Bedford at the weekend - always a good little festival (direct trains from Brighton, folks). Three outstanding bands - Welly, Westside Cowboy and Gurriers. Rest a bit meh, although I quite liked Honesty (George from Eagulls new project) - mainly because they play *behind* a screen, so your attention is on the projected visuals more than the band. Interesting approach.

Not heard of this one Kevo. Will have to investigate for next year.

It's a one-day fest in a really nice little venue, with two rooms. Been going a few years now - seen lots of good stuff there.

Bought tickets for David Byrne today. Bought using a presale form my internet provider and “dynamic pricing” might occur apparently. I paid 178 euros. Ouch.

Crossfaith in Southampton tonight, first time seeing them in 5 years when they were my last gig before COVID lockdown.

Absolutely mental Japanese metal/electronic band who are incredible live.

Ooo.
Saw him at The Dome doing his Eno stuff. Was one of the best gigs I've seen in Brighton.
I wonder whether I can be arsed to traipse up to that London for a large sum of money. I'll have to put the thinking cap on ...

I missed him last time, and regretted it, so don’t want to make the same mistake twice. It’s a really nice venue and very close to home, seated…..I’m trying to convince myself.

Given all that, do it. Doubt he's going to get any better in future tours. There's a reason why Stop Making Sense is one of the most highly rated music gigs: consummate performer, stunning songs and now Byrne's got some catalogue too.
