About 90% tickets sold for main floor standing and seats. However upper standing not put on sale from what I saw. So prob about 2.5k of tickets sold in a 3.3k cap venue. Not bad imo.

Yes Westside Cowboy and Dog Race both on my list too. I think we both saw Dog Race at Mutations Festival.

If you like Squid I’d recommend The Orchestra (For Now) at TGE.
That’s not bad at all and pleased for them, I saw Pom Poko play to a half full Chalk recently, it was a bit awkward especially as an amp went half way through.
I’ll check out The Orchestra recommendation. I’ve got one more gig before TGE and that’s Snapped Ankles.
Gig of the year so far for me was Seapower last week at The Old Market. They were playing songs and arrangements from their film and video soundtracks. A guest vocalist came on for The Smallest Church in Sussex which I didn’t really get as his vocals were very gravelly and not in keeping with the rest of the set.

Decided to buy a ticket for Kneecap. Not really my thing but they seem good fun.

I can’t believe you won’t love it. I’ve seen them four times, always superb.
I’m sure I’ll like it. Probs not my thing to listen to at home though.

We can discuss the wider topic elsewhere. But, what I will say here is that I went to buy my ticket this morning and sales seem to have been suspended. The Palestine/Isreal topic is very sensitive here, for obvious historical reasons, and a number of shows have been stopped due to Palestininian sympathies. Conversely, some artists are not playing certain venues due to either their government financial support and/or Isreal support.

Not for discussion but I will use this opportunity to share the fact that when Kneecap played at Mutations they made reference to the bombing of the Grand. They quoted the IRA response at the time which was ’we only have to be lucky once.’ I not sure what point they were attempting to make but some of the people that worked at the hotel that night were seriously injured.
