Way out west
15 year olds are well known for not being able to handle their drink, most of us have been there seen it and done it, what the stewards were probably more concerned about was crowd safety issues. It presumably contravenes the ground regulations to have glass bottles in your posession, regardless of what they may contain, the fact that they were spotted and ejected is fine by me. Just think of the repercussions for the club if things had gone a bit differently, a bottle thrown in the direction of a Hull player/coach/fan could have resulted in us being fined/forced to play a game behind closed doors, then who would have been complaining!

I hope those kids have learnt something from their experience and for the sake of the reputation of the Albion, and the safety of everyone else at the game, they are not tempted to make a repeat performance.

Just to upset the righteous of the land, some of us started our drinking careers in our early teens via the bar that existed in the North Stand in the late 70's.

Yeah, yeah, yada yada. That was in a bar provided for the purpose. If you got away with the age thing, bully for you. But any other fucker with a bottle of Stella in the South Stand at Withdean would have been ejected pronto tonto so this 'leave the kids alone' schtick is just garbage.

it always amazes me that you are allowed to drink whilst watching Rugby...in fact its positively encouraged, but not football.

Maybe its something to do with the nature of the football crowd...that a sizable minority are Chavs who just want a punch up.

It is fantastic that you are allowed to drink watching Cricket and Rugby. I was at Twickers the other day and soooo cold so I had a Brandy from the comfort of my seat. It is a shame that you can't in football.......but you can see why though.

Samoa. Couldnt get the day off for the Varsity match.

My friend who got the tickets said that we had really good seats. So I was expecting to be on the pitch, but we were the furthest seats away from the pitch ever!!

It is a shame people can't be trusted with beer at the match. Plastic bottles for beer would be good. You can take a coke bottle in with you, so why not beer?

Sounds like the stewards handled that situation correctly, so credit where it is due.

For the record, I started drinking at 16 and a half.
