When adding water to a saucepan to do pasta, do you:

A) Add hot water from the kettle so it gets a head start?

Or

B) Add cold water and heat it up fully from the hob?

I presume you add the pasta when the water is hot...in B?

Going slightly off topic - can anyone explain why eating reheated or cold (cooked) pasta is healthier for you? Or should I just ask on mumsnet?

Run hot tap for 30 secs, fill kettle, fill saucepan, add pasta. Preserving some pasta water for sauce is a good move

Do you drink the water separatley if you're having pesto ?

Quickest is to just put macaroni in the kettle and turn it on/off 3 times for al dente, 4 for soft.

Metul Orzo from Arsenal taught me that trick, he's retraining as a chef.

doesn't make a tit of difference ...pasta should always be added to boiling water ....8 minutes max and yes save a cup of water for your sauce.
