The inaccuracies must have taken considerable research...

George Dixon and Nick Rowan were PCs and subsequently Sergeants, not detectives.
Eddie Shoestring was, I think, a radio presenter.
Quite a few of the list were private investigators to all intents and purposes, eg Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Adam Adamant (probably needs explaining for younger viewers...).
Bodie and Doyle certainly weren't detectives...

Still, never let facts stand in the way of a good list. If it is going to be generic, I would like to see a place for Jim Rockford and his piles, sorry, files.
