The Goal That Never Was

I'm didn't think it was a foul, but I wasn't at all surprised to see it given as a foul.

How many times in major championships has there been a challenge that appears to impede a goalkeeper that wasn't given as a foul? Over the last ten years the goalkeeper has always gained the benefit of the doubt in these cases, and I think it was the same here.

The bad luck for England was that the first attempt didn't go straight in. If we blame others for our failings, we won't work on the things we need to improve to do better.

I think the ref got it right. (Cue amusing use of C word). I don't think the ref had time to judge whether Ricardo was off the gorund before or after Terry etc. He just saw the arm and the position of Terry and gave a foul, whihc the majority of Premiership refs would have done.

If it had been Portugal who had scored the goal, I bet few people here would have thought it a goal.

Afterall, you do expect some kind of home advantage don't you? It's not as if the team were gonna give them that home advantage is it?
