Don't depress me anymore - even UEFA are now waking up to the fact it was a poor decision

If only it were possible, I can feel a lawsuit coming on! :censored:

One day, a bad refereeing decision will cause a team not to be promoted from Division One to the Premiership, making the club lose out on £20m worth of income. Then it'd be interesting to see if the club takes the ref (or the FA who employ the ref) to court for gross incompetence or something like that. Only then would they take the notion of video refereeing seriously.

Haven't seen it properly on TV yet but it looks fine to me. Quite glad I was working while it was on as apparently the pay per view cut out with 5 mins left of extra time over here.:censored:

Yup, they make you pay $20 for every match and as the game went past 5.30 our time, the channel cut out for the next program to start.:censored:

I think it is about time that referees were judged on their performances. I know they are supposed to have someone watching them but has anyone ever known a ref get suspended or ditched?

Obviously England should have made sure of the game etc etc and I don't feel upset by it any more but we have seen too much of referee's ineptitude. Prosser especially comes to mind. We have seen other fans also saying what a poor ref he is and yet he carries on regardless and without accountability.

I'm having a great time so far. VERY tiring running after children all day but its good fun and I'm living with a really nice family, nice weather, nice girls. :clap2:

The camp ends on 14th August and after that I'm planning on heading down to Florida and just sitting for a few weeks:)

I'll check the fixture list to see which game I need to be home before:lolol:

At the time I was very angry but after seeing the replay I believe the referee was absolutely correct on this decision.

He is still a :jester: though.

yes the columbian referee that took charge of the italy vs. south korea in the world cup was suspended from refereeing after being found to either be really crap and inept or cheating. i can't remember his name. but he sent totti off.

I am a referee ont he sussex county fl and I have to say that referees nowadays are being scrutinised alot because of the importance that their decisions have.

at the end of the day, i am an england fan and i was devastated with the referees performance on thursday. Once again it underlines another inept refereeing when all referees do is get abuse. but many dont help the rest of us out. the prance about like poofs (the swedish bloke) because they earn a hell of a lot of money nowadays.

i think that video analysing like cricket should be brought in then there would be no mistakes and referees would get half the flak they do now.

Great stuff - relax in Florida and try and get down to the Keys (far more chilled out).

I see where your coming from, fatboy. Terry's arm impeding the goalkeeper. Harsh, but possibly correct.

However, why did the ref indicate that he had disallowed the goal for pushing?

Who pushed who?

When/how did he indicate that?

The reason why a referee makes a decision is irrelevant during the game. It is not up for debate during the game.

I was not surprised at all by the ruling out of the goal, happens every week in every league of the world you touch the keeper and its a foul

As the Portuguese were preparing for the freekick, he made a 'pushing' motion, with both arms at chest height, palms out and fingers pointing upwards.

We have to accept whether we like it or not.

I still think we have a great chance at Germany 2006.

Sven will manage World Cup Winners - we will be up for it

Unless players wear pressure sensors this will continue.

It is the same with penalties. A penalty is given if a defender touches the attacker regardless of whether the touch was hard enough to knock the attacker over.
