The Germans have just lost on penalties to the very attractive and defending Olympic champions the Dutch in the first women's hockey semi. GB v NZ in the second semi later.

I think GB have got the harder of the semis, NZ will provide stiff opposition.

Apparently we are one nil up. Watching hockey on a hotel 19 inch TV is fun. I'm treating it like radio commentary with colours.

The blood clearance team were interesting, two men with a bottle of water, then joined by a third man with a massive bottle of water.

2-0 Penalty and sin bin. No double jeopardy rule in hockey it seems.

I went right off them after being in The Font & Firkin for the Scotland v Brazil game in France '98. It was packed to the rafters with them and they were all utter, utter, arrogant ****s. I have never wanted Scotland to win a football match so much.

Steady on chap, no need for that.

Great stuff from the ladies.

I am clearly a Jonah though - not only did one of them get a stick in the face as soon as I turned it on, earlier the first diver I saw in the 3m springboard did a massive belly flop and scored 0.

Yep.

The sailing gold, winds permitting, to be confirmed.
A medal hope in the kayak men's double at 1340
The Brownlee's at 1500 in the triathlon
The mens doubles in the badminton for bronze
Jades Jones hopefully going for gold in the Taekwondo in the early hours.

China have caught us, the race to second should be interesting but it would take something special to maintain our position with China mopping up all the golds in ping pong and diving.
