I decided that I'd give it a go this time round, if only because I'm annoyed that I hear so little from the FAB and I think I could improve that.

But I don't fit any of the three categories they are looking for, so I can't apply.
They would be stupid not to have you, regardless of what categories they currently want someone from.

Remember the days when people ambled up to football grounds at 2.45 and left at 4.45 either happy or disgruntled.
All this wet wiping is not necessary.
Nicely put, although I'd add that the reason the wet wiping isn't necessary is because the atmosphere ('experience') horse has bolted and we're never going back.

All sounds a bit manufactured to me. Atmosphere is best when it's generated off the cuff.

And I take issue with that watching on the telly line. I assure I can get just as irate at the refereeing whether I'm on my couch or at the ground.

I'm worse on the couch!!! I hate watching us on TV.

I'm utterly fed up with 'someone' trying to manage EVERYTHING. Atmospheres tend to be good when one or more of the following are happening:

The game is really important
It's a genuine sell out
We don't like the oppo (helps if it's mutual)
The team are playing well or at least throwing everything in
The ref is a twat
The oppo has a player who is a twat

If at least one of the above isn't there then the atmosphere will be rubbish. As it was at the Goldstone. As it will always be.

I'm a bad fan as I meet one of the criteria being looked for but I won't be putting my name forward.

Having had some involvement in a previous incarnation of the club, it was a double edged sword.

- I am proud of what we contributed to saving, stabilising and then helping the club to have a future that Tony Bloom has delivered and has taken beyond our wildest imagination.

- I hated the looking behind the curtain ( like on the wizard of Oz) and seeing things I didn't really want to know or if I thought I did, the reality of knowing.

I'm fairly sure I'm not what the FAB needs (I'm way too opinionated) and I'm grown up enough to know my opinions have got me into trouble with some of the hierarchy previously

English/British atmospheres have always been reactive to what happens on the pitch. In Europe it’s different constant drum banging at 4-0 down just seems a bit shit anyway.
If the game is here is lacking atmosphere it’s up to the players to do something.

I wouldn’t last 5 minutes at one of the meetings based on the minutes I’ve read………

Item 3 - After discussion, Bob agreed to take the minutes of the next meeting as Alex was going to be away

…..and so on.

I’m as cynical as they come, but it seems to me the club are keen to publicly show that they support the FAB and are keen to work with them (looks good to the new regulator of course), but in reality don’t want it, and won’t let them get involved in anything material/important. As a result the FAB is a cosmetic exercise - I feel a bit sorry for those who put in the hours (voluntarily) thinking they’re going to be making a real difference.

Although true, there are a number of songs that I'd love to sing but cannot for the life of me understand what on Earth the lyrics are and I've been going to tthe Albion since the 80s!

PB will always give impression to media that he supports FAB because he wants them to think fans opinions are important to the club m The reality is he will back anything that increases income and be against anything that cost money.

I had the same thought. I suspect though that it would drive us both mad. My main concern would be that it might change the way I feel about the club and change my match day enjoyment for little to no obvious gain. I fear that it's a pointless exercise but if you go for it you'll certainly have my vote. I always felt it was nonsense to have a FAB that tried to represent all parts of the club. It should be 99% from the mens season ticket/1901/members fanbase, as that's 99% of the fans that engage with the club. STHs are currently under represented in my view.
