I decided that I'd give it a go this time round, if only because I'm annoyed that I hear so little from the FAB and I think I could improve that.

But I don't fit any of the three categories they are looking for, so I can't apply.

Frankly, if the owner of the biggest Albion fans forum wanted to give it a go and either the club or FAB said no they would be utterly mad regardless of any official criteria.

I guess the reasons for the specified criteria in this instance are that these are the areas which the FAB is either losing (ie, because incumbents with those criteria are stepping down), or have been identified as needing more representation (possibly the reason the Family Stand is included as one of the criteria).

I have to say I'm rather guilty of not taking much notice of the FAB, as I've always considered that the club does most things right by fans. However, I am getting a little more concerned each year by how "corporate" the club is. It's a VERY difficult balancing act, but given where we've come from as a club and the culture of the city, I think there's room for something a bit more progressive/"anarchic" (in the best possible interpretation of the word!)

Incidentally, are any current FAB members on NSC? If not, a few (at least) definitely should be.

It would be good to know what FAB has achieved since being in place?
Did i read somewhere thay they managed to get an extension on the light timer in a disabled toilet...

If they have power to actually implement sizeable changes then I am for it, if not, what's the point..?

Assume the selection interview weeds out anyone with a strong online presence who speaks their mind.

I do feel that at least a few FAB members should be all over this board. Mostly, posters have reasonable concerns/support etc. There have recently been a couple of constructive travel posts (the biggest issue for a lot of fans) which I would have hoped would be picked up by some FAB members and some good suggestions taken forward - maybe they have and they've all been suggested before but it would be good to know.

I note that the regularly promised updates on what's been going on have stopped being added to this thread. They've have to be proactively chased as and when people remember the FAB exists.

I hate to denigrate the work of anyone giving up their time for free, but the FAB does seem completely pointless. Especially if communication is going to continue to be so poor, even after repeated requests for it to improve.

I lost interest when reading that FAB reported for cost reasons club would not consider putting a cover over P&R queue. No further discussion by FAB just accepted. I dont use P&R but feel for them everytime I go past when it is p----- down.

Reminds me of the trade union where I used to work, every set of meeting minutes read the same:

Union: We would like to request X.

Company: No.

Union: OK, what about Y?

Company: Nope.

Union: OK, maybe Z?

Company: Nah.

Repeat ad infinitum.
