Forget the stats then but there's more passion and vocal suppport at the Albion than Reading, that YOU ca'nt disagree with! Grant you Withdean is shite (for obvious reasons) but not many clubs can touch touch us away from home. At Forest away last season the locals were amazed at the noise we made, Rushden last tuesday was also incredible. Madjeski and his millions can't buy that my son.

so why are you in Bournemouth?

Job. And the fact that Reading is damn expensive to live in. £170,000 for a 2 bed mid-terrace in a place in the west end where people get shot. No thank you!

Ever go to Elm Park? If you'd have seen 1995, we were described by the press as having the noisest home fans in the whole league. Shame we could only muster a capacity of 12,000 into that old ground. If you hear any reviews of our away support you'll know that it is very similarly noisy and large as per your own. Forest actually reckoned that our home support was the noisest they'd seen all season. Strange when you think that we only really set the place alight against them and Wolves really. Even 5-1 at home to Preston took us a long time to get excited.

I shall say only one thing: Wait until Falmer and the glory fans before making any judgement about us. You haven't had it happen to you yet! The passion is there in the same number as Brighton fans, but the fact that we've another 8,000 or so glory hunters on top of that puts the noisy bastards into a quieter light. It'll happen to you too, you know.

Correct me if I am wrong, but did you have to Cram 13,000 into your last game against Bradford?

We were getting that when we were bottom of Div 3

Sorry mate but that's just not true, one man and his drum does'nt make an atmosphere. I've been to your ground twice and it's like a morgue, why don't you come with us all to Brentford in a couple of week and witness it for yourself, you know it makes sense, I'll even buy you a drink.

You're on about the Madejski. Then I mentioned that Falmer will lack atmosphere too. Simple. I refer you to Elm Park for atmosphere. All new grounds are the same... its just the way it is. Sorry.

We had 10,000 for some games in Division Three during a very bleak era for English Football. Not bad, eh?

The last game at Elm Park had about 17,000 crammed in. Against Norwich in 1998. Relegated to Division Two that season.

Already said (on another thread) how Brighton would equally struggle to get 12,500 in the same scenario against Bradford what with recent events. Also said (in that same thread) that its pointless arguing because there is never going to be any evidence that one of us is right and the other wrong.

Ah I see now it's the 'new stadium' that's at fault not your fans, funny that because we seemed to make shit loads of noise at our end, you must of had an off day although I could hear that prat with the drum loud and clear and a sporadic chant of 'come on Reading' at various points. Do you lot know any other songs because we've got some we could lend you.

No! Read back to the earlier post.

Scenario: You have a small ground where the ground makes loads of noise at home. Then you move ground. In moving ground you put in loads of new fans. They don't sing. The original lot still do sing.

This has happened with the MadStad, and will happen with Falmer. As it has in other places I've been to, such as the Britannia, McAlpine, Stadium of Light, Pride Park, etc. All quiet as a mouse.

If you stand in a room and shout, its quite loud. If you stand in the Nou Camp and shout, its not very loud. ;-)

I mentioned this earlier on today! (It's probably on page 37 now). By those criteria Cardiff, Blackpool, and Preston are all 'bigger' than us. Blackpool and Preston used to be 'bigger' than Man U and Liverpool.

We're a small club squatting in an athletics stadium. We could and should be bigger but at the moment we're not. Can we just draw a line under this debate? Thought not.

So how come the noisiest fans in the Premiership last season were actually measured as Southampton? And they seem to have found another 15,000 fans since they left their previous grotty little shoebox.

Wilts, the fact is that if Chelski were to ever up the ground capacity of Stamford Bridge, we'd soon see the reason why you can hear a pin drop at your plastic stadium, and that is because you'd only get 500 season ticket renewals the following season. No one else there gives a toss.

Wilts, I think you are just going to have to accept that it's no use arguing with some people!!

So hang on let me get this. We're still "full of Chelsea fans" and you're from Brighton, the place where I have seen such support for other clubs apart from the home team in my entire life! If you come up to Reading nowadays you'll see the amount of RFC shirts around town and in neighbouring towns.

Come on, I'm not knocking your place... so don't knock mine.

P.S. Southampton are bloody quiet! Having seen a couple of league games there I can safely say that the survey was a complete farce.

Well I feel like knocking your place because I'm pissed off with your club nicking Steve Sidwell, needlessly refusing to extend Rougiers loan period, your gutless display against Stoke and now Coppell.

Please remember that you are on a BHA board here so I don't feel too bothered about sparing your feelings regarding your shabby 2 bit football club.

Ok Ok... I'll try and keep as impartial as possible, Simster. I don't ever expect you to like any club bar BHA, just wouldn't mind a bit of respect towards the fans of that club. After all, do you really think that Reading fans are to blame for any of things that the club has done to Brighton?

How's it going on HNA, Chappers?

Bugger almost forgot those stats should take into account most of the 90's being asset stripped and having to play 90 miles away in a tin shed in Chatham. What a wan*ker i am!!!
