I thought The Coral were excellent last night. Just 'cos they don't ponce about like Liam Gallagher doesn't mean they don't have stage presence. They've got rythym, that's more important.

Don't think they lost the crowd at all.

Went to The Music a few weeks ago at The Corn Exchange and it was a bit too loud. The Coral was just the right level to appreciate the musicianship and actually here the tunes.

Good gig

I agree that it was a good gig, just felt that it was not the best atmosphere ever. See what the Muse is like next week.

The Dome has a state of the art sound system which is only a year or two old, the place is a proper auditorium as well and the acoustics are superb as a general rule, by far the best venue in Brighton

What you cannot legislate for is either the fact that your possibly deaf, in a duff seat, behind a post, or other restricted area or a crap sound engineer is in charge, as with several bands in the past when they hit the 'big time' they employ all their mates, regardless of whether theyre actually capable of doing the job !

Very true after all Janes Addiciton were spot on sound wise when we saw them last month.

At the foot of the downs
Chappers spot on, The Dome will not work for a band venue its too bright and clean, just doesn't feel right. The sound was shite especially the end of The Coral set when it went a bit mad it sounded f***ing awfull..

1 plus point i thought the lighting was spot on last night for The Coral !!

The Concorde is the only decent venue for livebands IMHO Brighton has !!!

Saw Muse about a year back and they were absolutely top draw. I am jelous as hell, I was trying to get a couple of mates from here to go with me but none of them were up for it.:nono:

I bought the Elbow album about 2 weeks ago and it is very good indeed.

Enjoy. Gits!

Scaringly? Is that a word nowadays?

Musically Muse suck but i've heard they are well good on the live tip.

Just got back from the Coral gig (had to drive at the last minute so annoyingly sober).

Top performance, insane ending, and fairly good sound in Pompey Guildhall (nice to know the pikeys can get something right). Lots of lovely lovely ladies aswell. Great night.:)

That makes me really sad.:( I missed seeing them on Friday night in Brixton because I was too sick and couldn't move. Really bloody pissed off about it.

It's been a long time since I was at the Centre, but I think the Dome had better acoustics at one time.

*incidentally, a mate has TWO SPARE TICKETS for UB40 on this Sunday at the Centre- with THE STRANGLERS as support.
If anyone wants to buy (at or below face value) then send me a private-message (pm at foot of this post)*

Yep - Got to agree with Storer68.

Saw Peter Gabriel last night - he might be getting on a bit but he can't half perform. Put's most of today's bands to shame (Coral excluded from this). Nice to hear some of his older classics like Games Without Frontiers, San Jacinto, Shock The Monkey etc.

Great night out. I can't help think that Muse next week will be slightly different !
