Would be an extremely harsh dismissal based on 4 Premier League games. As much as I think his a twat, his finished 2nd in Div 1 and top of the Championship and taken perennial under achievers back to the top league after two successive promotions.

Agreed - I think he has done not too badly in getting them up and will take a while to adjust. But Football is Football !

When you look at their first few fixtures, is it any wonder they haven't picked up any points? If I was Adkins, I would have written those games off as well. Perhaps the Arsenal fixture was the only game so far that they didn't play that well. Still think they will do well to finish out of the bottom 3 though.

I totaly agree,after 20 games at that level with that incompetant twat in charge they will be well and truly fcuked and beyond reprieve

Billy Sharp , Barnard and Hammond all performed admirably for us in the championship and Div 1 . They all played there part in our promotion to the PL , they are gone because either Adkins or Cortese thought they couldnt cut it in the premiership . Especially harsh on Sharp IMHO .........The club showed no mercy or regard for what they have done in the previous seasons with these guys .

What evidence do we have to suggested Cortese will take a softer view with Adkins ?? Especially as he effects the whole club and not just one position !!

Personally I think he is on borrowed time Cortese is driven and wont blink an eyelid at making the decision . IMHOIt isn't though. We've defended poorly, lost 4 games in a row and for whatever reason failed to address our weaknesses in a bungled transfer window. And crucially there is clearly tension between Adkins and Cortese. He's one of the favourites for the chop and there are lots of rumours going round that all is not well. Adkins himself seems like a man who knows time may be running out. Regardless of if we agree with it, or like it, Adkins is under tremendous pressure and has already been verbally sacked a couple of times already with that then rescinded.
