Ok ladies and gentlemen - sponsorship has begun for us to run the Race for Life.
For the people who don't know what it is, every year Cancer Research run many "fun runs" in order to raise money for cancer research, and often raise a hell of a lot of money.
This year, like last year, the ladies of the board and some of our friends are running and walking for 5 kilometres, in memory of the many people that we lost because of cancer, and for the people who currently are having treatment for this disease that is becoming all too prevalent today. Hopefully the money we raised last year would have made more people recover from this illness. If it made a difference to one person - then it was all worthwhile.
When I did it last year, I found the race not only one of the hardest things i have done in my life physically, but emotionally exhausting aswell. I had lost a friend to cancer only a year beforehand, and all i thought about was the strength and determination she had, even when she was at her lowest points, and that's what kept me going.
I know this thread is very live aidy, but it is a charity i feel very very strongly about. Please donate some money to this cause - we dont mind how little it is.
I have set up a website for this - and the address for this is:
www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/daftbints
Thanks for reading this (and mods, can you stick this please)
