Ok i shoudnt bite because you are clearly simple but as nsc is my witness I will bet you one thousand pounds that bhafc will be above Crawley in 5 years time. If you believe your bullshit you will take the.bet. x

No need for a bet as I agree with you.
However......I can see the Albion slipping back to League 1 at some time within the next 10 years & Crawley playing in League 1 sooner.
At sometime there is the distinct possibility & likelihood of both teams in the same league at the same time.

Whether you like it or not Crawley Town are here to stay.
They are a good solid club.

Went to the Crawley game yesterday and got a sore neck watching the ball being hoofed in the air every two seconds, they didn't play the ball on the deck once. Thought the standard of football was dire for two teams at the top of league 2, although Shrewsbury did try to play some football. On that appearence Crawley will struggle in League 1.

I guess there is a small chance if we have our worst season in the next 10 years and they have their best but let's face it even if they were pulling 5k in League 1 it's still not enough to push Charlton, Sheff U, Sheff Weds, Huddersfield etc.

I honestly think, though, we're going to cement ourselves as a Championship club - maybe the odd season in L1 but this is our level now. There's enough buzz around the club and even when STHs drop off, occasional fans will fill the gaps. Even in a decade if we're stagnant I predict average crowds of 14k which is fine and full houses for Palace, West Ham etc.

Wouldn't mind drawing them in the cup again though - a Sussex derby would be pretty cool, 20 years after the last one.

to be honest thats league 2 and league 1 football, Brighton last season were an exception to the rule. ive seen Crawley 4 times this season and apart from the second half against Southend when they did play football it was all long ball stuff. (by showing your Brighton season ticket you get in for £10 which is not bad) Brighton are and always will be a much bigger club than Crawley and will always be No1 in Sussex, but I do think Crawley are on the up and I also think they will maintain crowds in excess of 3k which for a 1st year league club trying to put down a marker in the league system is pretty good. They have started to market themselves quiet well in the town, free tickets to schools and work places etc and the ones who are going to lose support is Palace, which is not a bad thing, would rather local people supported Crawley over Palace.

Not fishing but a JCL BHA & Crawley fan! Yes there is such a thing!!
Living in mid Sussex having no allegiance to either club historically but finding myself an Albion 1901 member & Crawley fan!!

Is there that much of a difference between the sides?
Not really! Take out CMS, Noone, Bridcutt & Ankergen today & the Albion would be in the bottom 3.
5th is great.....
BUT
Only having beaten Doncaster & Peterborough at home is not very good.
Two points currently above 13th says it all.
Crawley are class.
The difference between both teams is not much.
Like it or hate it Crawley are here for the long term, growing support & heading in the right direction.
For NOW they are no threat to BHA

Maybe not fishing, if not then trolling.

If neither then you really are a sad dweeb who spends too much time at football clubs that you don't support.

Meh!

Not a JCL - I have been following Brighton for 33 years but I am also Crawley born-and-bred and the ground is a 10 minute walk from my house and yes I watch them as well as Brighton. They are a good side and have some decent players.

The business model they are using at the moment can only work short term with gates between 2500 - 3500.

If they went up they would have to up the playing budget again if they wanted to challenge in div 1. At some point the owners will stop funding the club in the way they have been and they will have to live on their revenue generated from gate receipts.

They could become a similar club to say Rochdale, Bury or Torquay or they could do a Rushden.

Don't mind them being in div 2 but as soon as they rise higher they become a threat to youth development and revenue streams so happy as long as they bump around the basement division.

Not really, Brighton's support has always come from along the coast, Palace have more than us to fear if Crawley ever do make it higher than L1.

Interesting that you should think that. I didn't go, but consensus among our fans that did seemed to be that we should have tried to play more football rather than compete with them in the air. We're not really set up for the long ball game.

Don't think any of our fans thought Crawley looked anything special, even though we (shrewsbury) were dire as well....

The thing is you are watching both teams and Crawley look more dominant in their matches.

That doesn't mean they are of similar standard. If Crawley were planted in The Championship tomorrow they would suffer relegation at season's end.

We rinsed L1 last year and were top for a whole month already by last Oct. Its the opposition you face that makes the difference i.e you wouldn't be able to play any of your good footy from L2. There's less time on the ball, players are bigger, quicker, faster in thought and more generally savvy.

We also have two of our best players out injured.
