London Calling
New member
Out on the 30th Oct. Is any one getting it?
Its all their singles plus eXtras in CD format , in "original " sleeves.
Where were you when 'White Riot' came out in '77?.... Do you remember buying the NME for your free 'Capital Radio EP'? Did you know Ian Brown stumbled across the recording of 'Bankrobber' as a kid wandering around Manchester and was bought a copy of 'London Calling' by the bands tour manager? Recalling those moments in history when a piece of music hits you right between the eyes is an amazing thing...and The Clash have given people more of those moments than most.
The project has been put together with the full co-operation of Mick Jones and Paul Simonon who have chosen which bonus tracks to include and given artistic direction.
For the first time in a 30 year legacy, all nineteen UK singles by The Clash will be available to buy in a boxed set with original artwork.
7" Singles Box will be true to the originals - including replica sleeves and labels - with the singular addition of the never commercially available NME give-away - 'Capital Radio EP'. The CD Box will include numerous bonus tracks (six of which have never previously been available on CD) from 12", non-UK B-Sides and promos as well as being packaged in ultra cool 7" style sleeves and vinyl reproduction CDs.
The package will also include a 44 Page booklet with extensive sleevenotes, unseen and rare photos and memorabilia. The booklets sleevenotes include contributions from other legends in their field such as Mike D, The Edge, Bobby Gillespie, Irvine Welsh, Steve Jones, Damon Albarn, Stuart Pearce, Pete Townsend, Ian Brown and Bernard Sumner among others.
The Clash - The Singles Box Set is a must have for any music connoisseur, DJ, new kid on the block or somebody looking for a piece of that much talked about originality that make The Clash as relevant today as they've ever been.
Will go nicely with my originals including my signed copy of English Civil War!
