BG you aint the miserable arsehole who sits behind me in the North Stand who will do nothing but slag off the players (esp Leon)???? (Block K, Row F, end of row!!!)

No I am not and I wouldn't slag Leon becauseI think he is one of our two gems.

Surprise, surprise - BG posts and doesn't say who can run the club better than Knight and Co.

That probably wraps this thread up then.

See you all back here then next week, or maybe the week after, or possibly the week after that, for the exact same discussion courtesy of BG.

Hence if any rumours circulate they will be jumped on.Incidentally the one that I said about a man from Lincoln didnt come from Lincoln at all but very near to the club, I made up the Lincoln bit to protect my source but none the less the club or one of its employees managed miraculously to find out the name of this man in Lincoln, who didnt exist. Why should they have done that? What are they trying to cover up, perhaps nothing and they thought it was an easy way to shut me up. I do not know.

I had to read that twice.

I still don't believe that the board would go to so much trouble to shut you up. If it was so why didn't you go to the press with it instead of an internet message board.?

I do not care who owns or runs the club so long as it is succesful

The directors of BHA own the club which is a business and as such it is their responsibility to keep the club going and its head above water. Whether they use their own money or that provided by an outside sources i.e bank, money lender or who ever is up to them. If they fail to do this they will go bankrupt.

So what you are saying here, is the only way to stay in business is to borrow money that we have no way of paying back, just so we can win a few more games. Thats a recipe for disaster surely.

Question

Does money buy success in football?

Answer

Speak to Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield and Sheff Wednesday (and a few more that I cannot think of at present)

This has gone from having a go at MM to slagging off BG!!

If the man is what he says then why not give BG the pass etc that he wants and it wont cost The Club a penny,(So that will keep LI happy!)
If he unearths a couple of decent players all the better, but if not it hasnt cost a penny!

Puts us all in a no lose situation

Now surely that makes financial sense to everybody on here?

Then again I suspect doug deep will find fault with it somewhere:p

This is by no means me having a pop at DK as he has done wonders for the club and without him we would have been wound up a long while ago.

I am of the opinion that the Championship is a difficult league to get into - I look at the likes of Swindon and Bristol City (to name but two) and the consistent struggle they have to try and achieve promotion.
It is obvious that we need a ground and it is a priority but surely it makes more commercial and economic sense to invest in staying in the Championship so when we get Falmer we attract bigger crowds, play better teams and therefore attract better players and more investment.
There is no doubt in my mind that with the new ground will come investment from other areas, I know of two blue chip local businesses that want to invest once we have the green light, but until that time comes the board need to attract investment for use on the pitch.

one problem - NON LEAGUE - there is only one decent player in about 100,000 out there - and will they be any better than we have now - if he is what the f*** is he doing playing non league!

If ihe's free let him have a go - REQUIREMENTS:

Striker(s)
Premiership Quality Finisher
Pace of Linford Christie
Stamina of Paula Radcliffe (lasts 80 minutes then needs subbing)
FREE to puchase (NOT CHEAP FREE)
Willing to do it for less than YTS kid at Pompey
Must be at least 6ft5

Now can you see any flaws in those requirements?

Again the question arises - invest what? We don't have any money to invest.
We know that and we are doing the best with what we have.

Just read my thread - sounds like I want investment on the pitch rather that investment in Falmer - not the case, priority on Falmer but with investment on the pitch also!!!

I think the reality is now we are far more worse off financially than our previous time in Division 1.

It's is a crying shame this as we ONLY need a reasonably good striker and we would be OK.

Let's all just accept the fact and rather than vent our anger at either DK, MM or the players just unite together and really get behind the team.

I was devastated yesterday but it ain't that bad - at least we have a chance and are in a division other teams far bigger than us consistantly fail to get to.

What money M.M has, has to last the season. We are still out of the relegation zone after 18 games, having spent very little of it. Whatever is left should be spent on loan players as and when we need them. Getting Falmer has to be the number one priority, as without it we have had it.

If I am wrong I am sure that somebody will tell me.

I cannot see any justification in supporters paying their hard earned money to keep the club which is a privately owned business afloat i.e more money for Falmer whether it be the enquiry or whatever.

I am not happy but if asked to contribute towards a striker which would benefit both this same private company and also my enjoyment of watching matches as we win some then I would prepared to donate cash. I am sure that many would as they did when we bought Bert Murray. I think from talking to many supporters, that the main bone of contention is that everything is being put into the Falmer project and nothing into the team. Before you start yes Falmer is important but to my mind so is staying in this division.

This is not havinga pop at DK or MP it is just a conflicting view of how we should proceed. and as they own the club which nobody on here is prepared to accept we will go in the direction which they consider to be the best and most beneficial to all. That doesn't mean that they are automatically correct in their judgement.

I think the biggest issue DK has is his desire that the club does not spend future revenues in the knowledge that there are none whilst we remain at Withdean.

It could just be that by holding on a little longer and we get the green light for Falmer the whole situation will change.
