Each and every one of them is a millionaire.

A reasonable striker would want in the regions of £5 -6k per week approx 24 weeks of the season left = £144k between is it 6 directors = increased directors loans of £24,000 each.

Give the player a 6 month contract with the possibility of another if we stay up and are granted Falmer. Must be better than playing in a premiership reserve side.

Ok so that's the mechanics, now find a striker who is going to do it for us.

I have acted as an unpaid scout for every manager since Alan Mullery (!st time) the nature of my job took me to many parts of the country and I have recommended many players but when Steve Coppel arrived he said that he didnt want any scouts as he had a network of scouts that he could call on.

All I asked from the club was an official pass so that I didnt have to pay to attend perhaps 4 or 5 Non League games at weekends.

I would be quite willing to do this now even more so now that I am semi-retired and I am sure that there are many through out the county in a similar position

I do not know my pass was never renewed after SC.

Surely the Club, knowing we have no money must have in place some sort of system to look for decent players who are out there somewhere,if not this is a sad inditement on this club, especially as we are bereft of a Decent Striker:nono:

SC used his own brother to scout until his tragiv death in a car crash

The sort of striker we need for this level is not to be found in a non league club though

We did try for the Southampton youngster until the Saints needed him themselves.

McGhee has said he wont get anybody in that isn't any better than we already have. That shows a lot of confidence in the present squad.

If they invited applicants from 6 areas of the county they would get volunteers it would cost them nothing only the printing of a pass.

They could have a pre- printed (on a computer no cost) questionairre for the observers to fill in asking the details that they require or need to know which could be sent or e mailed or left at the club for MM to read and he follow up those he wished to and arange for one of his staff to have a further look. So simple.

If the club wanted I would take on the job of being the co-ordinator of such a scheme and acting as its secretary. Un paid of course because I love the club. No problem.

So let me get this right.

You're having a pop at people who've already ploughed £7m into the club and are telling them they have to put in even more - money which they will never see again.

Can I ask how much money you've invested in the club in the last 7 years?

How about volunteering to help the litter patrols, more your level of expertise I think.

Gary Stevens Burnley Res v Man Utd Res at 15 years old. Allan Mullery's chief scout said he is too small wont make it. Played for Burnley Everton Rangers a French side, Monaco? and England.

Corby vs Grantham FA Cup Gary Crosby. Barry LLoyd sent his chief scout but was told too late he signed for Brian Cliough at Forest.

Sutton vs Weymouth I was sent to look at a centre forward Francis Arawatiffe and I said no better than what we had but sign a midfield player. Again chief scout was too late so a 25/26 year old signed for Dave Bassett his name Paul Rogers ring any bells.

Salisbury vs Telford FA Cup a player on loan at Salisbury from Bournemouth James Hayter but the club were not interested as he had left us as a boy.

I cannot for the life of me think of his name but it will come to me. A blond ball playing central defender from Farnborough a week later he signed for Peter Taylor at Gillingham and played against us in the league cup at Withdean in the early days for Gillingham. Didnt last long and I think finished up at Stevenage

Oh and by the way I sat the same coaching exam as Jackie Charlton and got higher marks than him but couldnt get the badge because I didnt complete the physical tests due to work etc. I also turned down the first job in management that Peter Taylor got as it wasn't sufficient money for a full time job but too much commitment to do a full time job as well as manage DARTFORD.

It wasn't that long ago on NSC that BG was thanking me for taking his arguments seriously, can't be bothered to search for the thread.

I did, indeed, take his arguments seriously and spent a lot of time responding courteusly point by point to a lot of the criticisms I assumed back then he was raising in good faith.

That was the case for a fair while until I noticed he was completely ignoring any logical responses that countless others on NSC were supplying to his repeated and timeworn anti-board conspiracy theories.

In debating BG, you get sucked into a time-warp. The same grudges, the same baseless charges, the same exposure tactics aimed at undermining the current board. Round and round in circles constantly.

Every so often someone new comes to the board like you Auditor, and BG's grudges seem new and vaguely interesting to those who haven't heard them before.

You've missed what must now run into the hundreds of patient replies to him on NSC explaining why the board is exercising financial responsibility to stop us either going bankrupt or being taken over by asset-strippers like Archer/Belotti.

He has been challenged hundreds of times over who who thinks would be better fit to run the club, who would have the money to get us better players. He has never answered this question ONCE.

And I would bet my mortgage on the fact he won't be answering it in this thread either. Will you BG?

Yet he will be back here next week or maybe the week after, or maybe the week after that, cunningly taking advantage of some other defeat or other on the pitch, to trot out the same depressing attacks on the board all over again - as if the previous discussions had never happened.

If BG wants a constructive discussion, he can have it any time he wants by simply stopping his repeated malicious attacks on the board, or by honestly following through on the logic of his arguments and naming who would be better to run the club than Knight & co.

On past form, he won't do either of those things. Will you, BG?

I do not profess to be an acountant or even an auditor just somebody who has had his own business and has views on how a business should be run and the responsibilities there in.

I do however profess to have a little knowledge of football but then that is all about opinions and peoples opinuions differ hence succesful managers and not so.

Let me put this in one simple paragraph or post.

I do not care who owns or runs the club so long as it is succesful and by this I mean on the field.

The directors of BHA own the club which is a business and as such it is their responsibility to keep the club going and its head above water. Whether they use their own money or that provided by an outside sources i.e bank, money lender or who ever is up to them. If they fail to do this they will go bankrupt.
In our case the matter is compounded by the fact of the costs of inquiries and time delays etc but this is all part of running a business that the directors must overcome. When they continually keep handing out a begging bowl i.e Forty Note Fund, Falmer for All, I know that that is not the club directly but it is indirectly, and now the Alive and Kicking Appeal which is all designed to fund the success of their business then everybody is entitled to be concerned about the financial state of the club. Hence if any rumours circulate they will be jumped on.Incidentally the one that I said about a man from Lincoln didnt come from Lincoln at all but very near to the club, I made up the Lincoln bit to protect my source but none the less the club or one of its employees managed miraculously to find out the name of this man in Lincoln, who didnt exist. Why should they have done that? What are they trying to cover up, perhaps nothing and they thought it was an easy way to shut me up. I do not know.

What I do believe is that we are in no better financial position now than when the 3 others left us. We still owe as much and we do not own a ground to ofset these losses, that is not the current boards fault I know but it is still a fact. Granted a lot of these losses shown are by way opf directors loans which cvan be pulled in at any time.
