Can't believe no-one's said BEAVER yet

Leicester have a bus company called "Beaver Buses", and their slogan is "Ride the Beaver". Nice. I think it's a corruption of Belvoir, which they pronounce "Beaver" up here. I'm a "pussy" man.

I have a colleague who moved down here from the Midlands.

On her first day, she loudly announced "I'm just goin' outside for a growler", causing many confused faces in the office

Turns out these non-Southern types use the term 'growler' to describe a cigarette
