Arrggh so difficult. It was good to beat the crooked team, but the Great Escape led to where we are now.
The Cheats said they would have been Chzmpions without the points deduction but we had more than enough points anyway.

The Stockport culmination to the Great Escape under Salde was my favourite game of the Withdean era.

It meant League 1 not League 2 in the Amex-2 season and without it there may have been no Gus and beyond - and an alternative history.

Clearly Chesterfield. That whole season was catchup and felt like we'd never get them for months - always seemed David funking reeves was scoring a late winner for them and the injustice of Oatways red card and then defeat in the away game rankled. We'd reeled them in by this match so it was about proving we were best team in the division. Which we were!!! And the delicious irony of who scored the OG. Loved it. Possibly my favourite game of all time
