Pompey last game of the season at home in the relegation season of 1992.

We won to give ourselves some hope of staying up, queue laods of fans running on the pitch to goad the Portsmouth scum, only to totally leg it as soon as the inbred twats climbed over the fence and charged back.

Remember that well, was only 12 at the time and was with my Brother and Dad in the Northstand. My old man wasn't too happy when he realised me and my little bro were on the pitch goading the Pompey lot .... Can remember them kicking their way through the advertising boards to get to us from the East stand!

Also remember a very similar thing happening against Port Vale... Some big northern lumps charging the North stand.. Seem to remember a Thermos flask being chucked around for some reason :|

Does any one remember the big, loud, black fella that used to stand in the top/middle of the North in the early 90's? He used to go to every game, then 1 game he headbutted a steward and surprisingly enough never saw him again..

This.

And very typical of our "firm" who turn up mob handed at noddy places like Southend but shit themselves at the sight of a real firm.

I couldn't pretent to be "in the know" on these things but an older bloke I play Rugby League with certainly is & he suggested that your comments aren't 100% correct.

He's Leeds and he assures me that they got battered away at Brighton. In addition it seems that following LUFC's L1 fixture with Brighton at Elland Road a group of Brighton turned up at The Britania Pub (a known naughty boys haunt) & enquired if any like minded people fancied a ruck. Nobody did & they left quietly (much to the embarressment of my mate).

A bit like the Pompey scenario, I remember Leeds at home at the Goldstone. It was the season Leeds fans went on a bit of a south coast rampage I think. Anyway, Johnny C scores with a header in the last minute to equalise 2-2 and send a packed north stand into delirium. Cue songs from the home end of "come and join us, come and join us, come and join us over here.........". Leeds duly obliged en masse streaming across the pitch and the north stand has never emptied so quickly!!
